Korean Gold "Dong" Easy to Sell Back In USA?

After looking around all over Seoul for a couple of weeks, I found just about the only few of ways to buy gold here is to buy heavy 24k chains, gold in the form of (for example) a 24k knick-knack such as a golf ball, turtle, etc..., and the traditional form of a "dong" (insert joke here) which is a stamped square (or rectangle) of gold that weighs 37.5g. Current rates are $19-$20/gram which is the spot rate.

My question is, would they be easy to get rid of, exchange, sell if I bring some back home to the USA? Where would the best place be to go to do so? :captain:

Tradeable only to someone who has the knowledge and ability to assay it.

So I'd stay away from it unless you have a jeweler friend you are buying for or it is the only gold available for you to purchase for your PM needs.

I've followed PM's more or less closely for 30 years and I wouldn't buy such an item in the US: don't know anything about it. (Frankly, this is the first I've heard of the Korean gold dong. Perhaps it's a form of what's called chuk kam?)

Gold Kruggerands are instantly recogized and available for sale or purchase virtually anywhere in the world; I'd stick with items of that sort.

I found it on the internet a year or two ago. Right click the image and save it to your computer. Then you can "search" when you upload it.
